About Bandai
Lake Bandai is a beautiful spot under the shadow of Mt. Bandai, a dormant volcano. We will be staying in wooden cabins down by the lake and have full access to the site's bikes, kayaks, table tennis table, barbeques and sentou. For adventurers amongst you, if the weather is favourable Mt Bandai offers a challenging hike, the lake has a great cycling route around it and there are small islands that can be swum/kayaked to. Those of you fancying a slightly gentler experience can visit the 5 coloured lakes, or view one of the world's largest collections of Dali sculture and paintings in a custom built gallery near by. And those of you wanting a totally sedentary experience can just relax by the lake admiring the view! I often find this experience is enhanced by the presence of a cold Asahi,... Text doesn't totally do the Bandai trip justice, so if you really want to know what Bandai is like try asking someone that has been - because BANDAI IS AWESOME! |
What should I bring?
|
TransportationThis year, as last year, we will be running a carpool to Bandai. We cannot guarantee people spaces, but last year went off without a hitch, so hopefully this year can too.
Carpooling is great fun. It is a fanastic way to meet people, get your party mood started and listen to someone elses ipod. Drivers - just like last year we will reimburse you a minimum of 1,000 yen per carpooler you take. Take three passengers and you could be looking at 20% of your trip paid for! We also have directions for you. Obviously MAJET cannot guarantee everyone a space in the carpool. We will do our absolute best. Last year ran without problems, and we aim to do the same again. Should want to come by public transport we have details of how to get there. We will give you details of how these work should you need them. Don't panic if you haven't heard loads about the car pool weeks before it happens - we can't finalise it until after the deadline of September 9th. Click the pins of the map for handy info about each place.

Disclaimer
Cancellations after September 9th will incur any cancellation fees that we are charged as an organisation. Sorry! We will only charge you what we are charged for your cancellation. Organising for a big group is very difficult, so we would appreciate it if you could give us as much notice as possible.
September is a very busy time in your schools. Please check with your school that you are not needed on the weekend of the trip. Often the ALT is the last person to hear about things, make absolutely sure you haven't got a PTA meeting/culture day/enkai or anything like that before you RSVP. This is particularly relevant if you are new, as it is probably assumed you know the school calendar.
The comittee members are all rank amateurs and pay themselves appropriately. That is, they don't pay themselves. We are on holiday too, and paid the same as you did, so if you have a problem, please be sensitive to that.
Being on a trip with MAJET does not make you immune to death. Nor does it make MAJET responsible for you death/injuries/shame.
